1. The Pink Room
1. Old antique furniture
brought at auction enhances the pink Room's period charm.
2. The fireplace in
the reception room is a clever reproduction, made and painted to
resemble one from the Georgian era. It is offset by a collection
of antique furniture and fittings.

2. The Reception Room
Period Drama
For those with a penchant
for period drama the Chart House in Cork is a real treat. It's owners
Billy and Mary O'Connor have painstakingly restored this old Georgian
house back to its former glory helped by tradesmen John Connolly
and Ken Reilly and Kathy Brookes of Fabric Finders, Cork. Meticulous
attention to detail has been paid to all aspects of the design right
down to the high skirtings, architraves, ceiling roses and furniture
bought at auction. "We tried to keep everything as authentic as
possible, only buying what was relevant to the Georgian period,"
says Mary. What they could not find they designed themselves drawing
on inspiration from Georgian styling.
